This might be my last post for a long time...not that I post that often anyway...but I am packing up my computer now and head for camp in 6 days where I doubt I'll have computer access. :-(

Kraig comes home tomorrow morning!!! We're going down to Indy to spend the night since he comes in at 7:30am. I can't wait to see him again since it's been almost 5 months! Monday we're having a family Memorial Day picnic in Muncie. Then I am planning to stay in Muncie till wednesday to get everything packed for camp and hopefully all packed for Virginia so I don't have to worry about that in August. Thinking this week may turn out to be a little busy!

Congratulations to Stef, the newest Indiana RN!!!

And now for an update on the past week...well the past weekend at least. Thursday I went down to Indy to spend the day with Lindsey and Molly. We spent the morning and early afternoon at the Indy Zoo. I wasn't too impressed with the zoo and the animals were a little lethargic but we still had fun. We did get to see the dolphin show and they were fun to watch...though the girls didn't want to sit in the splash zone! ;-) Following the zoo we spent some time at Circle Center Mall mostly to kill time because we wanted to watch a movie at the IMAX theater...which we did after killing time at the mall and walking around downtown Indy. The movie was about NASCAR and was 3D...it was definitely cool though watching the cars race with 3D glasses on made me kinda sick. :-/ But the 3D glasses were definitely stylish...too bad we didn't get a picture with them on! After the movie we grabbed dinner at Chili's and then drove over to the hospital where Lindsey starts work this week. We made it back to Lindsey's house just at the rain started. We were pretty tired but still spent a couple hours talking till I decided I better head home. It was so much fun being together again and having the chance to catch up...though none of us had done a whole lot since graduation...but that should change in the next couple of weeks!

Friday my family and I head to Michigan to attend the wedding of Jon Nelson and Jennifer Ploeg. Jon's an ABWE MK I grew up with in the Philippines. We spent the afternoon with some friends of my parents before heading to the wedding. The wedding was done well and was very Christ centered. It was cool seeing Jonny get married! :-) Following the wedding was a dinner reception at a really nice restaurant...the food was awesome! But we didn't eat till 9:30 so it was definitely a late night! But it was fun to see Jonny again and to catch up with his sister, Jenni, (just graduated from BBC) who I also grew up with. After spending a few hours on saturday with another former ABWE Philippines family we headed home. Too much driving over those 3 days!! But it was a good weekend and it was nice to get out and do something. But in a couple weeks I'll probably be wishing for some down time! Such is life! :-)

oh...don't forget to pray for Nikki who is taking her NCLEX on Wednesday, June 2nd!

Another thing...check out Dave Barry's article about graduates and their parents...very funny!

Well it seems that summer is a slow season for blogs...no one posts very often including myself! Probably because there isn't a whole lot going on worthing posting for the world to read. But let's see...

My nursing license came in the mail the other day. So now I am an officially licensed RN in the state of Indiana!! It's still weird to tell people that I AM a nurse and not in nursing school. To help out more at camp this summer I will be trying to get a temporary Ohio license as well...hopefully it's not too complicated a process!

In the world of sports I don't have a clue what's going on except for the NBA playoffs and I really only care about the Pacers! They are in the Eastern Conference finals against the Detroit Pistons. The Pacers won game 1 in a very close game. They play again tonight and I think it's broadcast on ESPN. So, turn on that TV and cheer on the Pacers!!! It's Miller time!

And finally NCLEX updates: a reminder that Stef is taking her test on the 26th (that's wednesday I think) and Nikki is taking hers on June 2nd. Remember to pray for them! And if you know of anyone else who is taking their test or who has passed it let me know.

Congratulations to Sarah Coleman, Mikala and Molly for passing the NCLEX!! You guys are finally RNs!!!

I just finished the biggest test of my life: the NCLEX. It took me just over an hour to complete so all the worrying and preparation that I did almost seems like a waste. I really didn't like the test...actually, I thought it was pretty simliar to many of our nursing tests and the HESI (most of which I didn't like :-)) ...there were only a few questions that I feel I really knew the answer to. The rest were educated/reasoned guesses. And I had 80 questions which kinda worries me...it means that the computer couldn't tell if I was passing or failing when I reached 75 but then 5 questions later it knew...so basically if I did well on those 5 questions I probably passed but if I didn't then I probably failed. Great. Now I get to spend the next 4 days worrying about it until I am able to check my results online or call. *sigh* Too much stress!! Thanks for all your prayers!!

NCLEX test date update: Stef is taking hers on the 26th and Nikki will probably be taking hers next week...so be praying for them!!

Ok, so I forgot the biggest highlight of last week...Matt and Chrissy got engaged on Tuesday night!!!! I was sworn to secrecy for so long that when I was finally allowed to talk about the engagement it was anticlimatic (for me that is...I am sure it still isn't for matt and chrissy!)...but anyway...congratulations to both of them!!

Wow! It's been a while since I've blogged and so much has happened since then!

The highlights:

Spent a week packing and spending lots of quality time with my friends!! Finally being a nursing major paid off!! :-)

Thursday I went out with my family and molly's parents to Applebees. That was a lot of fun!

Friday we had nursing convocation!! If you weren't there and have decent connection to the internet you can watch it online here. The convocation was so much fun and pretty exciting...ok, so we aren't quite sure why Dr. Alyn was talking about goats and sheep but we did learn which way the tail goes! :-) But Lt. Sylvester did a great job comissioning us and the whole thing went well. We took lots of pictures with lots of friends...bittersweet time! Afterwards the Cole and McCloskey families went to Cracker Barrel for dinner. After waiting for them to serve all of Springfield we finally got seated and served. Then raced back to CU for Parent's Night which was better than I expected. Still not that exciting though. At least they had roses for us to give our mothers. Following that I think Lindsey, Amy, Molly and I went to Rehm's suite at Hearthstone where we celebrated our graduation with a cake and a few presents.

Saturday was another hectic day but once again pretty exciting! We had to be in the gym by 9am and so we spent probably 45 minutes in there getting pictures once again! :-) (I took 50 pictures in 3 days!) Then it was time for graduation!! The ceremony only lasted 2 hours like they said...I was amazed! Dr. Cheney was our speaker and was quite entertaining...that, and my seat was so hard that I couldn't get comfortable enough to fall asleep anyway! :-) Watching all the graduates get their diploma was a little tiring but it only took 40 minutes which was nice. Somehow we were off one when we got our diplomas and so had to pass them down the row to get the correct one. Fortunately it was only a few of us at the beginning of the nursing class. And besides a little snafoo with the recessional the ceremony went great! After more pictures with family and friends my family head to Olive Garden for a family dinner. Finished packing my car that afternoon and spend the night at the Jenista's in Cedarville before heading to Muncie on Sunday after church.

I am now in Ft. Wayne...came up tuesday morning to spend time with my dad who left this morning for a 10 day trip to China and Hong Kong (I know he'd appreciate your prayers while he's gone!). Which brings us to another interesting story. On the way home from the airport this morning I finally received a speeding ticket... 70 in a 55. :-( The officer was in an unmarked Camero! Totally missed him...still have no clue where he came from until he was behind me with his lights on! :-) But you knew it was coming eventually didn't you?! :-) Maybe now I'll drive a little slower...ya think? :-) That was a bad start to the day!

But it got better because I finally received my authorization to test from Indiana State Board of Nursing and was able to schedule my NCLEX for the 14th...wonderful birthday present isn't it?!! :-) But it's nice to have the test scheduled and know how much time I have to study for it! So, if you could remember to pray for me on the 14th at 9am central time I would greatly appreciate it!! And am sure Molly (testing on the 12th) and Lindsey Johnson (testing on the 14th) would appreciate your prayers too! Any other nursing majors have a test date yet? Let me know and I'll be praying for you as well!!
